You may earn a certificate in HR Excellence by completing seven workshops for 48 core credits and an additional 18 credits of your choice for a total of 66 credits. Workshops are held throughout the year in convenient locations in Chicago, Springfield, Champaign-Urbana and other locations as appropriate. This program is a great investment in your future.

In addition, it can give a good return on investment to your employer. The capstone project is designed to identify an issue within your company and apply your new skills to make recommendations your employer can use to solve these issues and problems associated with them.

This is an opportunity for you and your employer to grow. Employers pay consultants big fees to evaluate, recommend and solve HR issues. An IHRE certificate will allow you to apply your new skill set and save your employer those high consulting fees.

• HRM’s strategic role in contributing to organizational effectiveness (6 credits)
• Overview of employment law/government regulations: complying with federal and Illinois law (6 credits)
• Fundamentals of benefits and compensation (6 credits)
• Fundamentals of staffing: making the right hiring decisions (6 credits)
• Introduction to workplace safety and security (6 credits)
• Fundamentals of training (6 credits)
• Capstone portfolio (12 credits)
